Nonetheless, I reserve the right to change anything I have on my websites without having to justify the actions that I take. These actions include:
-
deleting comments
-
editing comments to remove materials that I consider inappropriate
-
deleting pages on my wiki
-
taking down my entire site (or any arbitrary part of my site) at any time
-
deleting files (that are inappropriate, take up too much resources, etc)
-
blocking IP address or particular users who abuse my writing environments
That said, I want to treat the input of my reader and writers with great respect (which I hope that I have demonstrated). I will not intentionally misrepresent what others write. And I have no immediate plans to take any of the actions I listed above. But I will feel free to do so should the occasion arise.
I might want to say more later.
For comparison, MarkPilgrim's
policy on comments on his site is a policy that I'm very sympathetic with when thinking about my own site.
Note one policy from MarkPilgrim that I will follow on my sites:
-
Comments that include irrelevant links to commercial sites will be deleted immediately, and posters will be banned by all available means.
