What is KFTF?
The classic problem of information retrieval, simply put, is to help people find the relatively small number of things they are looking for (books, articles, web pages, CDs, etc.) from a very large set of possibilities. This classic problem has been studied in many variations and has been addressed through a rich diversity of information retrieval tools and techniques.
Google Tech Talk on Keeping Found Things Found. I've been intrigued by KFTF for a while -- research that is directly related to the Scholar's Box, which involves finding materials for research and how do we keep things found. I came away from the video thinking that we still have a lot to learn about this topic. It'll be useful to systematically read the KFTF research output looking for design implications for the Scholar's Box.
