IcalSpec

I've long wanted to figure out what XmlSpec-based calendaring specs there are.

iCal seems significant because AppleComputers has apparently pushed out its [WWW]iCal with great success. One of the great features of iCal apparently is the ability to share calendaring info easily. The IcalSpec is the basis of that interop -- but as far as I can understand, it's not a XmlSpec format. Hence, as I learned from [WWW]Russell Beattie's analysis, there are also possible "rival" RdfSpec-based efforts, as well as RSS-Event based work.

See JonUdell's [WWW]The Calendar Fiasco for a detailed analysis of the mess we are in, why weblogs are a type of structured and unstructured data sharing mechanism.
