When I was growing up, I would often hear the many recordings of Cantonese opera that would fill our house with stirring and glorious sounds. I didn't understand most of the words or the storyline. But now I want to know more about Cantonese opera and Chinese music in general. Call it nostalgia or a search of my roots.
